The legendary beers of Andechs Abbey in Bavaria have been brewed since 1455, when 7 Benedictine monks founded the monastery on the Holy Mountain of Andechs south of Munich. The Benedictines have continued this brewing tradition over the centuries, cultivating and refining the art of brewing and their beer recipes. Now using ultra modern equipment, Andechs still brews in strict accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 and the centuries old monastic tradition.
